So far I have two sets of 450TH bottles, the output xfmer (shud be good for 1 kW into 8 ohms), all the PSU parts, and the castor wheels and cabinet components plus a attempt at a case design.  I also have a C.T. driver choke wound.  Just waiting for the time and a kick in the inspiration department.  Other projects on the go now that are infinitely more important to my survival like a multi-year (into the 4th year now) in the building wind turbine.

We are too greedy as a species to invest $$$ in our own survival.

Hallo everybody, hoi Bas,

ik mis de KT88 op het lijst? I am missing the KT88 on the list, isn't that a big tube? I have been playing with all sorts of tubes, lots of them not really being audiotubes, I came to the conclusion, that real audio tubes sound better than tubes, which are meant to do something else, well most the time.  So I would vote for KT88, just they are not on the list.

Kind regards from Holland

If no one has seen it, there is a new tube, the KT120.

http://www.tubedepot.com/ts-kt120.html

"This is the most powerful audio power tube in production today. With a plate dissipation rating of 60W (compare that with the 35W of the 6550, the 42W of the KT88, and the 50W of the KT90), a pair of these KT120 tubes in push-pull configuration can deliver 150 watts or more of audio power. A"

"This new KT120 is the steamroller of audio tubes, prepare to be flattened."
